Amongst the many options of travelling to and from klia2, licensed personal car drivers are becoming one of the most options in Malaysia. GrabCar and AirAsia ride are the two most popular. Both are app based where you can request a car using your smartphone and pay either by contactless or cash. Journey time from klia2 is approximately 50 minutes to central Kuala Lumpur.
These pick-up points can be found at Door 3 and 4 on Level 1 for KLIA, and Door 5 on Level 2 of the Transportation Hub for KLIA2. These areas are also where the metered taxi and bus stands are located at both airports, as well as the respective KLIA Express/Transit stations.
Grab
Prices via GrabCar using justgrab selection are between RM30 - RM64 for a distance upto 35km, 36 - 66km is RM65, anything over 66km starts from RM65 and varies on distance. To use this service from klia2 download the grab app via the app store, google play, select car and follow the instructions.
If you would like to travel in comfort, Grab offers their executive service whereby passengers are guaranteed a Toyota Vellfire / Alphard. GrabCar Exec (to / from KLIA) This service is only available for booking within selected areas in Klang Valley (see below).
Fares: Klang Valley (selected areas) to/from KLIA/KLIA2: RM180 excluding tolls. For rides above 90km, there will be an additional charge of RM5/km.
Area Coverage: GrabCar Exec (to/from KLIA) is available for pick-up or drop-off to/ from KLIA including but not limited to the following areas:
- KLIA / KLIA2
- KL City Centre and surrounding areas
- Ampang – Taman U-Thant, Ampang Hilir, Trec KL, Royal Selangor Golf Club

AirAsia ride
AirAsia recently introduced their own e-hailing app to rival grab and operate throughout Malaysia offering you the ‘perfect ride’ with options available from an allstar ride through to a premium MPV. Guest are allowed to share their ride locations in real-time and have access to emergency SOS buttons. To use this service from klia2 download the AirAsia. super app via the app store, google play or app gallery, select ride and follow the instructions.
